Ingredients
Scale
3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 pound flank steak
¼ cup lime juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup guacamole
½ cup sour cream
1 jalapeño, sliced
Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Tomato salsa or pico de gallo, optional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix the vegetable oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss the cut potatoes in the mixture until well-coated.
Spread the fries evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
While the fries are baking, marinate the flank steak by whisking together the lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
Let the steak rest for a couple of minutes and then slice it against the grain into thin strips.
Once the fries are golden brown and crispy, pull them out of the oven. Place the fries on a serving platter and top with the sliced carne asada.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, then add guacamole, sour cream, jalapeño slices, and fresh cilantro.
Serve immediately while warm and gooey.
