Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds of chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless, skinless if you prefer)
1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
1 tablespoon of brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Start by giving your chicken thighs a good rinse and patting them dry with a paper towel.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your crockpot, then pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the top, ensuring every piece is coated.
Cover the crockpot and set it to low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
When the time is up, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Carefully remove the chicken from the crockpot and serve it as desired, perhaps shredded for sandwiches or as is.
