  • 150 grams of active sourdough starter
  • 1 tablespoon of spirulina powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt

  • Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine your bubbly sourdough starter and warm water. Give it a gentle stir to combine.
  • Gradually mix in the flour, spirulina, and salt using a wooden spoon or your hands.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10-15 minutes until elastic and smooth.
  • Place your dough back in the mixing bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise for about 4-6 hours at room temperature or until it has doubled in size.
  • Gently deflate the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Shape it into a round or oval loaf.
  • Place the shaped dough on a floured surface or in a proofing basket, cover with a towel, and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before baking, preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C), and preheat your Dutch oven if using.
  • Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and score the top with a sharp knife.
  • Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown and crusty.
  • Once done, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
