  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of pepper
  • 15 oz of ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg

  • Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Stir in minced garlic, cooking for another minute until fragrant. Add ground beef, breaking it apart and browning it uniformly. Introduce the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper to the mixture. Let it simmer for 20 minutes to develop deep flavors.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Stir until the mixture is creamy and well-blended.
  • While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles and lay them flat on parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, start by spreading a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Next, place a layer of noodles over the sauce. Then, spread a layer of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used. Finish with a layer of meat sauce topped with a generous portion of mozzarella cheese.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent burning, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
