1 pound of ground turkey
1 cup of breadcrumbs
½ cup of finely chopped onion
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of ground pepper
1 large egg
2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
Olive oil for cooking
1 cup of Greek yogurt
½ cucumber, grated and drained
1 clove of minced garlic for tzatziki
1 tablespoon of olive oil for tzatziki
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste for tzatziki
Fresh dill (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, egg, and chopped parsley. Mix gently.
Scoop out about 1-2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll them into balls to form about 15-18 meatballs.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add meatballs, and sear until golden brown on all sides (about 4-5 minutes).
Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
While the meatballs are baking, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl for the tzatziki.
Once the meatballs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with tzatziki sauce.
