  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup of finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove of minced garlic for tzatziki
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil for tzatziki
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste for tzatziki
  • Fresh dill (optional)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, egg, and chopped parsley. Mix gently.
  • Scoop out about 1-2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll them into balls to form about 15-18 meatballs.
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add meatballs, and sear until golden brown on all sides (about 4-5 minutes).
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • While the meatballs are baking, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl for the tzatziki.
  • Once the meatballs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with tzatziki sauce.
