2 cups of broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
2 cups of cauliflower florets
1 lb of Italian sausage (bulk or casing removed)
8 oz of cream cheese
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup of heavy cream
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 small onion, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of paprika
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Rinse the broccoli and cauliflower, then chop them into bite-sized florets.
In a large skillet, heat medium-high heat and add the Italian sausage. Brown the sausage for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once browned, remove it from the skillet and drain excess fat.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add diced onion. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add in the cream cheese and heavy cream, cooking until the cream cheese melts. Stir in garlic powder, paprika, cheese, salt, and pepper until the sauce is creamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli, cauliflower, and cooked sausage. Pour the cheese sauce over them and stir until everything is evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
