  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup chopped fresh blueberries
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

  • Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Cut the frozen waffles into quarters and layer half of them in the baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Pour half of the egg mixture over the first layer of waffles.
  • Scatter half of the fresh strawberries or blueberries over the soaked waffles.
  • Layer the remaining waffle pieces on top and pour the remaining egg mixture evenly over them.
  • Top with remaining berries, pressing them into the mixture.
  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and let chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden and puffed.
