6–8 frozen waffles
6 large eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Pinch of salt
1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
1 cup chopped fresh blueberries
Powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Cut the frozen waffles into quarters and layer half of them in the baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Pour half of the egg mixture over the first layer of waffles.
Scatter half of the fresh strawberries or blueberries over the soaked waffles.
Layer the remaining waffle pieces on top and pour the remaining egg mixture evenly over them.
Top with remaining berries, pressing them into the mixture.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and let chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden and puffed.
