Ingredients
Scale
1 lb of ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup of Italian breadcrumbs
2 tsp of Cajun seasoning
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 medium onion, diced
8 oz of pasta (fusilli or penne)
3 cups of chicken broth
1 cup of heavy cream
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, Italian breadcrumbs, Cajun seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix by hand until well combined, ensuring not to overwork the meat. Form into small meatballs, roughly 1 inch in diameter.
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs in batches (to avoid overcrowding) and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot, toss in the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add in fresh garlic, if using, for an extra minute.
Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a boil, then add in the pasta and return the meatballs to the pot. Cook for the time indicated on your pasta package, usually around 8-10 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Allow to simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken.
Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
