1 teaspoon of baking soda
¾ cup of unsalted butter (softened)
¾ cup of granulated sugar
¾ cup (packed) of brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
½ teaspoon of peppermint extract
1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the edges. Lightly grease the parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
Spread the batter evenly into your prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
