2 slices of thick bread
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons pizza sauce
Your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives)
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
Spread a couple of tablespoons of pizza sauce over the cheese.
Sprinkle your favorite toppings on top of the sauce.
Top it off with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Place the second slice of bread on top, butter-side up.
Cook for about 3-5 minutes on one side until golden brown.
Carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Remove from heat, let cool for a minute, and slice in half.
