Description

This Ribeye Steak Sandwich is packed with tender, juicy steak, caramelized onions, and melted cheese, all served on a toasted hoagie roll. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 4 hoagie rolls or sub rolls
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Onions: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and heat over high heat. Season the ribeye slices with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and tender.
  • Melt the Cheese: Lower the heat and place the cheese slices over the steak. Cover for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  • Assemble the Sandwich: Toast the hoagie rolls if desired. Spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on each roll. Add the steak, caramelized onions, and any extra toppings you like.
  • Serve: Slice in half and enjoy hot!

Notes

  • Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Swap provolone for cheddar or pepper jack for a different taste.
