1 cup of ricotta cheese
1 pound of ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix, or use lean turkey)
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 jar of marinara sauce
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands.
Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
Arrange the meatballs on a lined or greased baking sheet about an inch apart.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
While baking, warm marinara sauce in a large skillet. Add meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
