450 grams of sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
960 milliliters of beef broth
240 milliliters of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Brown the Steak: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces and season with salt and pepper. Sear them until they’re browned on all sides (about 4-5 minutes).
Add the Aromatics: Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic, stirring until fragrant and the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
Add Potatoes and Broth: Stir in the diced potatoes along with the beef broth, thyme, and paprika. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Stir in the Cream: Once the potatoes are soft, stir in the heavy cream and bring back to a simmer without boiling.
Final Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
