1 packet (3 oz) of flavored Jello (preferably orange)
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
1 (8 oz) container of whipped topping, thawed (like Cool Whip)
1 can (11 oz) of mandarin oranges, drained and chopped
In a medium bowl, combine the packet of Jello with 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes.
Add 1 cup of cold water and allow the Jello mixture to cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
In a separate large bowl, fold in the thawed whipped topping into the cooled Jello mixture.
Gently fold in the chopped mandarin oranges.
Spoon the mixture into individual serving dishes or a large bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Once your mousse is set, it’s time to serve. Top it with extra whipped topping, graham cracker crumbs, or fresh mint.
