Ingredients
Scale
1 lb of prawns (large, peeled and deveined)
8 oz of pasta (penne, fettuccine, or linguine)
2 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
1 cup of heavy cream
4 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 cup of chicken broth
½ cup of Parmesan cheese (grated)
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Begin by cooking your chosen pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. This typically takes about 8-10 minutes. Make sure to salt the water generously to enhance the flavor.
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the peeled and deveined prawns to the skillet and season them with salt and half of the Cajun seasoning. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until the prawns turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the prawns from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and remaining Cajun seasoning. Sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Next, pour in the chicken broth and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, mixing well. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and incorporated, creating a rich and creamy sauce.
Add the sautéed prawns back into the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated in the cream sauce.
Serve the creamy Cajun prawn pasta immediately, garnished with chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
Notes
This creamy prawn pasta combines the succulent texture of prawns with a rich and spicy Cajun sauce, making it a flavorful and easy dinner option.
