3 pounds of pork shoulder
2 cups of sauerkraut
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
2 bay leaves
1 cup of chicken or vegetable broth
Instructions
Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork on all sides until golden brown.
Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened and caramelized for about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
